Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology
Florida Museum of Natural History
Vertebrate paleontologist Jonathan Bloch has been a leader in the discovery of a wide variety of fossils from the Americas, including the largest snake the world has ever known—as long as a school bus and as heavy as a small.
Bloch is also leading research that sheds new light on the origins of primates.
He led a team of scientists in discovering two 56-million-year-old fossils in Wyoming, the most primitive primate skeletons ever described.
